More Cleaning

The forks came up well.  I used pumice on these to get off the worst of the corrosion.

This was the seatpost before cleaning.

... and after.  I can't remove the pitting from the lower part but that will be hidden in the frame, so I'm quite happy with this.

I completely stripped this derailleur down to the last spring.  It was protected by the dirt and grease and so came up almost like new.

The same with the cranks and chainrings.  Very little wear on the chainring teeth :)

I did my best with the white Turbo saddle.  I brushed it, scrubbed it, tried white suede cleaner but it still looked rubbish.

In the end I decided to dye it black with suede dye and it looks good.

Record front hub stripped and cleaned.

Note the bearings kept in their groups.  Campagnolo size their bearings to within 1 micron, but after many many thousands of kilometers these bearings will be even closer than that.  Therefore its vital to keep them together.

Mavic GP4 rim.

Suntour Superbe Pro rear hub.

An absolute campy copy but beautifully made.  Still in excellent condition but I will replace with a Campagnolo Record to keep everything genuine.

A tiny amount of wear on the cone but the cup is like new.
